Date Night

Friday night was date night and we got to go see New Moon! It turned out to be a really fun evening. Reed and Cassy came over, and John and Allisha came too and brought some friends with them Keith and Kristi. We met up at 6pm for dinner at Olive Garden (YUM!) and had fun chatting and eating. Our waitress was fun because she asked us right off the bat if we were going to see New Moon. She said that she had gone to the midnight showing the night before and that the movie was awesome, really crowded, but awesome. We finished eating around 7:30pm and went over to the theatre for the movie.

When we got there, we were excited to see that people had already started to be seated and so no lines (we bought our tickets about a week prior). We go into the theatre and it was totally PACKED! There was of course not 8 seats together, but there wasn't even eight seats period. John sat by himself, Allisha and Kristi sat together and Keith sat in front of them. There was four empty seats way up high that someone was saving, and so the rest of us decided that we were just gonna go see about taking them. WOW big mistake. Apparently this lady was saving them for her daughter and friends that were out getting popcorn. Small misunderstanding, it was fine, but not to her. I think if we had pressed the issue we would have been in an all out hair pulling cat fight. So we went back down to the main section and the manager was trying to get everyone to sit down. We thought he would be willing to help us find some seats. WRONG! He started blaming us for showing up too late, (at this point it is still about 15 minutes before the movie is even scheduled to start). He told us that we couldn't sit together that it was just too bad. He said he had a 20 seat buffer, so there should be 20 extra seats. We told him to find us four seats then. Of course he couldn't do it, and then instead of apologizing and trying to make it right. He sat us out in the hallway and told us we had to wait for the 9pm showing, even though there was also an 8:30pm showing. It kinda felt like we were being sent to the principals office (hehe). He finally came back and a few minutes later and told us that we could "try and fit" into the 8:30 showing. We went into the theatre and it was basically empty. We picked the best seats in the house and all sat together (the four of us). We kept waiting for the rest of the crowd to come, but it didn't the theatre was seriously half empty. A whole lot of drama for nothing. I think what happened was that people that were supposed to go to the later showing snuck into the earlier one, and the drama began.

Doesn't really matter though. We got to watch the show and it was really well done. I am super excited because the poster in the lobby said that Eclipse comes out June 30, 2010. Hooray! Date night again, hopefully with less drama :) Glad that everyone could come and go with us. It was so much fun. Luv you guys!

Brylee's First Hair Cut

On Saterday Nov. 2, 2009 I cut Brylee's hair for the first time. It has grown pretty good, but since it has just grown out exactly even, it was a total mullet. Not really my idea of cute, but I loved her hair being a little bit longer in the back because I could pull it up into pig tails and she looked so cute. I finally decided that it was time and she needed a little trim, just in the back. I should have taken a before picture, but I didn't and most of you saw her hair before I cut it anyways. These pictures are about 1/2 way through...

and then these are the "after" pictures. I like how it turned out and I am glad that it will be able to grow out a little bit more evenly.

I didn't get very good pictures, but she was ready for a nap by that point, so that is how it goes. Her hair is not a mullet now and that is all that matters :)

happy halloween

Halloween was a very busy and fun day. It started the night before when we went to the trunk or treat carnival at the church. There were carnival games and several contests and of course trunk or treating. The girls thought that it was pretty fun, but by the time we got to the trunk or treating they were done and it was cold, so we did it, but they didn't really love it all that much. The next day (on actual halloween) was a lot more fun. When we woke up we made pumpkin shaped (and colored) pancakes...

We Carved Pumpkins and the girls thought that was a lot of fun. I wasn't really into it this year, so I just helped Zaralyn carve hers, and then I carved the one for dinner (you will see in a minute). Justin was a lot more into it then I was and he helped Brylee carve her pumpkin, and then he carved the rest. (Thanks babe!)

Then of course there was actual Trick or Treating... We started at about 4pm at the downtown spooktacular on main street. The businesses hand out candy, there is cookie decorating, a costume walk, among other activities. The girls at this point really weren't into it still, so we did a little bit there, but then figured we would go see a few of our friends and go home for dinner. Zaralyn was a lady bug, and Brylee was a lion. I wish she would have let me paint her face, but she was seriously not having any of that, so she won, and no paint, but I think she was still so stinkin cute, and I loved her tail! When we got home, we put dinner in the oven and Zaralyn said that she still wanted to go trick or treating. Since dinner had a while to bake, we decided that we could oblige her with a few houses in our neighborhood. I don't know what changed, but she was so excited. She was running up to the door just like you see in the movies. She was so excited to get to go and ring the door bells. We walked our corner and down one other small street and then she said, "I'm done let's go home." So we walked back home and they were both happy little girls! That is what it is all about anyways, so I am glad it all worked out.

And finally our dinner!!! It was so yummy. I found this recipe to make soup in a pumpkin, and I thought that it would be so festive to make. It has ham and cheese, and croutons and cream in it and so I am sure that it isn't very good for you, but it was fun to make, and it tasted good. You bake it in the oven right in the pumpkin, and then just serve it right out of the pumpkin. SO good. If you want the recipe let me know. It was tasty and it made a great ending to a fun day!

Who needs a computer, Right?

So I am not neglecting this blog, really, I promise, computers just seem to hate me lately. My computer is totally full of... not very much actually. It is just an old computer (some might say ancient in computer years) and it is out of memory. It runs super slow and I can't get anything done on it because I can't save anything or remove anything for that matter. Really frustrating, but that is old news, it has been going on for a while. So how have you been blogging you ask? Well I was using Justin's laptop for that along with my online school classes and such. So the next obvious question would be then what is the problem? To that I would say, the other night while I was doing some homework the laptop was sitting on the arm of the couch and I was looking some stuff up in my book. There was one internet screen up and the screen saver was on. All of the sudden half of the screen went black. I asked Justin what had happened, he didn't know so we turned it off to see if it would restart, and it never turned back on. Oh I was so upset (to put it lightly) mostly because my school work was saved on that computer and I hadn't turned it in yet. YIKES! We took it to two computer places to have it looked at, the second place giving us a little bit better prognosis, but the video chip went out (supposedly a common problem with hp). We could buy a new motherboard and have it put in, but that would cost about as much as buying a new laptop. So sad. Anyways back to the point of this post. I have some really fun pictures to post on here, but they are all on my camera and I have no way of putting them on here for now. I will figure out something soon. I might just actually have to go to the store and make a cd, old school I know (hehe). At least that would get me by for a little while, but we have to figure out something soon cause while blogging is important to me, it really is more important that I be able to finish my classes. Anyways that is why there is all the non existence of pictures. So stay tuned, they will be on here soon, one way or another.

pumpkin patch

Downtown there is church that has a pumpkin patch that is super cute. I love going there because it is right in the middle of town, so no long drives, no dirt and it makes for super cute pictures. And since you all know me and know that I can't resist an opportunity to take some pictures, here they are...

Kameron and Kayla's Wedding

This last weekend the girls and I headed down to St. George, UT for my cousin Kameron's wedding. It was so hot I couldn't believe it. As I sit here right now, it is snowing in Colorado, but I am sure that is not the case in St. George, it was so HOT! Should've packed my flip flops. Really regretted that one. Oh well, it was a beautiful weekend, and here is how it went...
This is the St. George, Utah Temple where they got married. It was beautiful inside and out, and Kameron and Kayla were so cute together. It really reminded me of my own wedding day, and it really made me miss my hubby. Sorry you couldn't go with us hunny, we really missed you!
Outside of the temple on the grounds. Do you see the flowers still in bloom? Like I said, right now over here it's snowing, and they have flowers?
Cutting the cake...
Allisha was my travel buddy. I asked her if she would go with me if Justin couldn't go. She agreed and away we went. It is always fun to travel with you Lish. Thanks for going, I love having you not only as my sister, but my best friend.
Our trips together are the best!Brylee was a little ham, and as always she was just go go go. Zaralyn on the other hand wasn't feeling well and while we were standing in the really long reception line, she fell asleep on my shoulder. We put her down in Eli's car seat, and she slept through the whole thing. Oh well Lynee, you can dance next time, just hope you get feeling better.
We ended the night dancing, and it was a really fun reception. The pictures below are really grainy, but that was because it was so dark. It's called ambiance. :)
I just want to say Congratulations to Kameron and Kayla once again. Thanks for inviting us to come celebrate with you. We love you guys and couldn't be happier for you!
